Don't compete with AI tools. Lean into what makes us human.

I led a workshop recently, and one of the participants was having an 𝗲𝘅𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘀. 

They came up to me and said, “I’ve always been considered a great writer. Now that these AI tools can crank things out in 30 seconds, even though much of it is slop, a lot of it’s good enough. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗺𝘆 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲?” 

This is what I told them: 

🚫 AI has never lived.  🚫 It has never loved.  🚫 It has never lost or felt pain or regret. 

𝗕𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗽𝘂𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿.  𝗜𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹. 

It’s not about competing with AI tools.  It’s about leaning into what makes us human.
